Biography

Ashley Cheyemi is a bi-national PhD candidate in multi-ethnic American literature at Georgia State University and in American Studies at Johannes Gutenberg University in Germany. Her research employs new humanist theoretical frames to focus on narratives of interraciality in order to perceive Asian American subjectivities subvert constrictive Westernized notions of identity.

As a Student Innovation Fellow through the Center of Excellence for Teaching and Learning,  she is a project manager for Atlanta-focused inter-institutional collaborations and is particularly invested in leveraging digital platforms to connect local communities to students’ education.
